Long time coming!

November 3rd, 2009

Hello,

We hope you all had a fantastic half term and week off!  It has been wonderful to hear what you were up to over the week!  It all sounded very exciting!  We are very sorry that we haven’t left any posts recently but Miss Sinnott has been having some slight computer problems!

A couple of weeks Y1’s Champion Child was Ryan Hughes for having outstanding general knowledge and trying his very best at science and geography!  Last week’s Champion Child was… Daniel Lamb!  We are so happy that you are back in school with us Daniel and thank you very much for your message! Y1 were very impressed!

Thank you to all Y1 parents for your support during parents evening last week!  I hope it was beneficial and you all went home with a  big smile on your face!

A big ‘ Happy Birthday’ to Georgia and Melissa as it was their birthdays over the holidays!  I hope you had a wonderful time!

See you tomorrow Y1!

Hello everybody!

Last week, Y1 went on a visit to the library.  We had a lovely walk to and from the library and used our road safety rules to make sure that we were safe crossing the roads.  At the library, Sandra the librarian, gave us a tour, showed us how to borrow a book and did a quiz on traditional tales with us!  It was great!  Then we coloured our autumn leaves and made our autumn trees!  Y1 would like to say a big thank you to Miss Cheetham, Mrs Crawford, Mrs Connor and Mrs Williams for keeping us safe when walking us to and from the library.

Talking about walking, it was ‘Walk to School’ week last week!  Well done to all the children in Y1 who walked every day and the children that tried their best to walk at least one day!  Let’s see if we can beat our record next time and have everybody walking to school on at least one day!

This week’s Champion Child was Georgia Martin!  Georgia earned her award for writing a wonderful character description for her traditional tale and for always trying her best!  Well done Georgia, keep trying hard and you will do very well!

Last week, Kyle brought in his model boat for a brilliant ‘Show and Tell’.  We look forward to hearing Callum Furey’s on Wednesday afternoon!

See you all tomorrow!
