It rained and it rained and it rained…
After a lovely weekend in sunny Scarborough, and the adventure on the high seas, back home in Maghull brough rain and then more rain. We did get out today on our “Whatever the Weather Walk” and we went rain catching. We stopped at the Green Park pond to top up our containers. When we came back into school we came up with ideas for sentences about our walk. Not only did we use some great words we also started to talk about using connectives to join two ideas together in a sentence. There are lots of children in our class who have been to the neat handwriting shop because they have lovely handwriting!
By the way we have a lovely video of a great caterpillar ride. To see it we need three different requests through the comments section!

I have a ICT colleague, John Sutton, who lives in Manchester (but he supports Souhampton so that’s ok!) and comes up with lots of brilliant uses of IT in the classroom. Sometimes it can be hard to best describe a vision for the digital resources available but |John has found a video that sums it up perfectly http://pairadimes.blip.tv/#1268286

After footy tonight I’m off to sunny Scarborough to meet up with Amy, Megan and Hannah although I might have to seek off to find a place to watch a football match taking place at a ground whose name I can’t say and playing a team I can’t even think to speak, so this is a quick note to say well done to Grace for being this week’s Champion Child. Also well done to today’s computer group who did some absolutely fab work using openoffice draw.
We had a pretty good week doing lots of different activities and our tidying up after we have finished skills are getting better all the time.
Here are two photographs of our Champion Children for the last two weeks.
Have a lovely weekend, enjoy the sun. Next week we are going to decorate a great big lambanana!

Homework
The result of our last poll showed that computering is our favourite activity in class. The next poll is about Liverpool or that other team.
If you have got lots of information about the Lambananas or the history of Liverpool for homework and you would like to see them on the blog…..send them in.

We had a lovely week….
…that ended with a sunny afternoon and Golden Time.
The children have been working at their writing skills and have started to record their adds and subtracts in Numeracy. We have also had Barnaby Bear’s first adventure – he went to Blackpool. http://barnabybear.net/ is the official website for Barnaby Bear.
Ewan is our Champion Child this week ….his photograph will be on the blog next week.
Mrs Cassidy was well looked after by the children on Thursday while I did some IT stuff for school and she enjoyed teaching the class.
To celebrate the warm summer days that we have been having the rockyou.com slideshow has a summer theme!

After a very pleasant afternoon in the sun at Anfield yesterday there are a couple of catch up things for our blog.
Friday is our day in the ICT suite and we made use of a fab website for imaginary worlds called www.citycreator.com Everybody really enjoyed this and came up with some really creative new lands!
www.literactive.com is a lovely resource for reading. It is a free site that just requires registration. We had one or two problems with the registration last year so if you can’t register use the user name raff and the password divucudi and that will give you access to loads and loads of different reading resources.
Libby became our first Champion Child and Kieran recieved a certificate for getting ten Golden Time Stars.

The children have settled into their new class very well and Mrs Rowlands and I have been very impressed with their enthusiasm and indpendence.

The chldren have had a very busy couple of days. The girls have completed their box and have done a fantastic job. The boys have been just as busy computering and building and writing and numbering and shopping.
Mrs Brankin came into our class this morning and she helped with the start of the road safety course, our SEAL forms and outdoor P.E. . Thursday was a bit different today because it was girls only on the computers day and they loved www.poissonrouge.com
On Wednesday Louise took home The Strange Blue Ball and today the honour went to Victoria.
We have a couple more photographs to view and you can see them by clicking on http://albums.phanfare.com/greenparkschool/2712652#imageID=46821983
