Friday

December 28th, 2007

Well Christmas is over and Friday arrives, grey (again) but not so cold and it is time to say thank you for all the lovely gifts and presents that came Mrs Rowlands and my way. They are great and show how kind and considerate the children and mums and dads or our class are.

While Mrs Rafferty has been eating lots of chocolates we have been watching some fab films. The top ones have been “The Bourne Ultimatum” All the Pirates of the Caribbean films, “It’s a Wonderful Life” and, with the sound system turned up pretty loud, ……”Transformers” ……………….great! Which has been your favourite film over Christmas?

Have a lovely new year and see you back in school next Thursday.

The day before the last day of term

December 19th, 2007

We had a great day today. We started with sticker registration and then to the magic show………….George had a bit of trouble with his wand………..it wouldn’t quite do what it was supposed to! As for the amazing rabbit….where did that come from?

We did a few Christmas art activities and we watched the “It’s a Cracker” DVD….it’s pretty good!

After lunch it was party time and what a lovely time it was. All the infants seemed to really enjoy the games, dancing and food and their ourtfits were great.

Thank you to everyone who helped to make today such a great day.

Everyone Champion Child

December 16th, 2007

It was impossible to choose one person to be Champion Child this week. The efforts of the whole class over the last few weeks has been great and the whole class deserved the award……so that’s what we did. Congratulations to everybody in Y1.

Well done…..

A very well done to Caitlin who is this week’s Y1 Champion Child. She alsays tries her best and is a very independent member of our class.

If you follow the link there is an online Advent Calendar that is quite nice

Y2 are causing a bit of trouble in the run up to the Christmas Production…..have a look at their blog http://www.year2.greenparkschool.org.uk/ to find out why. We will try and find ways of getting back at them with some dastardly plans. If you have any good ideas send a comment and we will try and put the plan into action.

Mrs Rowlands had a good night, or at least I think she did, she went to see Wet Wet Wet. Here is a video just for her!

We are still having issues with Sefton’s new filtering services which means that there are aspects of our blog that can be only accessed at home -writng posts to blogs and moderating comments are a couple of school based examples. Youtube is another example which raises problems for us. While there is inappropriate content available (Wet Wet Wet?) there are thousands/millions of resources that could be used for educational purposes but within school we can’t (James Blunt on Sesame singing about the mathematical properties of triangles). Peter Ford, a visionary user of educational blogs, develops the idea at http://fordlog.com/?p=267
