Calling occupants of interplanetary craft………
Well not quite but it is nice to know that there are people out there watching our bit of space on the internet. We had a comment from http://www.sunflowerocity.com/
Have a look at their website and leave a comment.
By the way if you look at youtube (which is great although it is banned in Sefton) you can see where the title of this posting gets its inspiration.

Wherever you are or whatever you are doing there are some great activities that you could do to keep (to quote Napleon Dynamite) “your skills intact”
For number skills try http://www.bbc.co.uk/schools/numbertime/games/index.shmtl
For a little bit of writing why not mke up a story and send it in. If you do a picture using Paint get a big person to send it in and I’ll publish it with your story.
You could if you wanted send in a diary of your holiday activities. I’m going to the bank soon to pay for my first week’s holiday in Vezac, France and then phone Auntie Anne and Uncle John to tell them to hurry up and move house so that we don’t have to live in a field in the second two weeks of our holiday in Grenade sur l’adour. We might have to drive to Barcelona instead!
After the bank its off to sunny IKEA although I have to stop at a car shop for new window wipers…….the old ones have had too much rain!Â

Red went on holiday to the Dominican Republic and took Pabletta with him. Although he didn’t find any pirate ships Red and Pabletta did have a nice time.

It’s just the weather for growing sunflowers so when we get back in school I guess the little sunflower seeeds will have grown into huge great plants! Don’t forget to bring them back so we can see how much they have grown.

It has been a very busy week in Y1. While Y2 were doing their SATS we had to be very, very quiet……….and we were. It doesn’t seem 12 months since last years Y1 were being just as quiet. Y2Â did ask me to say a big thankyou!
Try this weeks shape task for homework.
I’ll get round to setting the homework up as a emailable document but in the meantime……………………………try the online shape activity at the BBC’s website http://www.bbc.co.uk/schools/starship/maths/calamity.shtmlhttp://www.bbc.co.uk/schools/starship/maths/calamity.shtml
For Literacy activities a really, really, really, really good site is www.literactive.com .
All you have to do is register with an email address and then once you are in there are loads and loads of phonic and reading activities for lots of different reading abilities.
If you have time let me know what you think. The really great thing about this is that while Red is on his holiday far far away he could be doing his homework instead of looking for my pirate ship! He he he he he he!……………..he’ll never find it. I have to keep it secure for a quick getaway!

We had our first two returns for computer homework this week. Well done Thomas and Jenny ……your work was great. The online activities may have been done as well. If you did any of these leave a comment.
This weeks homework is about characters in stories. Download the file, print it off and bring it in to school. If you prefer you can download the sheet, look at the information and write about a character in a story then either send it back through the comments section or get a big person to do a bit of fancy technical stuff and send it to me as an attachment (Reece and Red did this earlier in the term). You could write about Mx or Q Pootle 5 but if you have a favourite character from another story choose that one.
The number homework is an online activity……… it’s a counting penalty shoot out! Try it and tell me how you got on.
