Tuesday
We had a lovely day today. First we did some counting with Longman Maths Counting Fish. Beth was great and got all her answers right. When this was complete we did our own fish and ….well we need to finish this tomorrow. We had a little break with our “Tuesday whatever the Weather Walk”.
After play we had a playground rhymes lesson but Mr Rafferty did tell us about his days in primary school  in Ormskirk (it was when St Anne’s was in Hants Lane) and Mrs Beeston told us about Green Park when she was little and Mr Dunbar told us about Green Park when he was little and Mrs Cassidy told us………….no she didn’t …………she couldn’t remember that far back!
We finished our ryhmes with skipping with a big rope on the playground. We have to practice our ryhmes.
In the afternoon we did ICT with a program called 2Simple City. It is great!
We got out on time! What a lovely day!

We used the story of Elmer the patchwork elephant to show how being different can upset people (and elephants!). We discussed what made us worried or upset.
As part of a national competition we all did some work about Elmer on a computer programm call 2Publish. Â
The Y1 winners were presented with a certificate and prize today in assembly, they were Ryan and Reece who worked together and Abigail A very well done. Mr and Mrs Wells who help us fundraise for Patmo in Africa, presented their certificate, and came to tell us about Fridays big fund raiser!!!  It was very difficult to choose a winner as all the pictures were different and very interesting.

Unfortunately I have still not sorted out my digital camera which is a bit of a nuisance because our colour sports day went really well with lots of activities. Thanks for the multi-loured clothes. Never mind once I get in touch with Sony they should sort it out.
I have really been impressed with out writing and reading this week. We have used www.literactive.com (free registration) for stories and then some writing of the words we have read. Elliot (although he wasn’t the only one) started on Monday and as the week progressed produced better and better work. Keep it up everyone.
Mr May leaves our school on Friday after completing his teaching practice. He has enjoyed working at Green Park and has found the challenge of his first Y1 class interesting and illuminating. He will be hosting the Celebration Assembly on Friday.
On Thursday we will try and get our symmetrical butterflies done. Fingers crossed!
