We were going to practice for Sports Day today but the field was a bit slippy so instead we did shape patterns.
Here is the worksheet we used. Print it off and try it at home.

Hello everyone in Y1. It is Sunday afternoon and you might have nothing to do. Try this counting in 3’s worksheet. (To mums and dads…….as the website is something new to me I am doing a bit of trying out things………….so if this link doesn’t work don’t be surprised!)
The first one is a middle sound worksheet that I found on a site called www.readingkey.com It is an american site and for full access a subscription is required, but the first part is a trial version and is free. It is well worth a look.
The second worksheet is to help the understanding of counting in 3’s. Draw three objects into each section and them total them up in the box provided.

On Wednesday Y1 took part in the sponsored bounce in the morning. The children bounced and bounced and bounced some more!
In the afternoon it was sports and activities. Some of the sports were hockey, football, javelin, skittles and baketball. It was great.

Tuesday in Year 1
We made a great poem because we came up with lots of ideas and tried to make our sentences not boring. Here i t is……..
On the Field
People laughing and giggling.
Shouting, “Pass the ball!”
Screaming, “Goal!”
Kicking shoes off.
Crying because of the ball.
Skip, skip, skip, skip, skip, skip.
Rustling leaves in the wind.
Â
Â
After we had worked as poets we had playtime. Then it was P.E. We learned how to throw lots of different things…………………but we found Mrs Cassidy too heavy!
While we were out on the field the Police horses arrived. They were great and Eleanor said that they felt like silk.
The people from the police were friendly and told us lots of information about the jobs that the horses have to do.
Nobody from Year 1 ended up in jail!!
Welcome to Year1
Year 1 said ”hola” to some of our spanish visitors today and made some welcome messages including one on the whiteboard. Pablo, Javier, Alejandro and Selene spent most of the day with us and joined in with all our activities.
