Senora Sentis says, “adios”

May 28th, 2006

Senora  Sentis said “adios” to the children of Green Park and especially Y1 on Thursday. She has finished her research and teaching tasks in the UK and returns to Barcelona to resume her own teaching activities. Everyone at Green Park thought she was great and will miss her lots.

Another busy day in Year 1

May 18th, 2006

On Thursday we started the day by looking at our plants. Lots of them have started growing. Then we did a poster about the trip to Chester Zoo – we had to think about the animals we saw, what we thought about the trip and be very careful with our letters.

We had lunchplay on the field and when we came in we started the afternoon with some Numeracy……..counting in tens …. and making sure we didn’t forget the units……….. it was great.

Once we had tidied up we finished our story about Jack and the Beanstalk. Then our green reading books and blue writing books were given out. We put our coats on, lined up, said “good afternoon” to everyone and then had to put a letter about school uniform orders in our bag. Finally we went home!

Chester Zoo

Year 1 had a great day at Chester Zoo. The day started at very early but everyone arrived on time and once the coach was full away we went. Once we got there we headed to the Education Centre where we found out about the different things that living things do – some things are a bit smelly! Then we had our picnic lunch – we didn’t sit next to Year 2 – they are a bit yacky for us !

After that we explored the zoo and came across lots of strange and unusual creatures – and they were just the children in our class! The bat cave was great even though it was a little bit dark but Anna and Luke were very brave and knew which way to go. We finished the day by playing in the adventure park and then we got the train back to the entrance, got on the coach and away we went.
